Our mission

To keep the Kinaba (Sir Thomas Hiley) Information Centre open and active, while giving volunteers the chance to help care for the Centre and the surrounding area.

Our vision

We want the Kinaba Information Centre to become a lively, community-run place where visitors can learn about nature, local history and conservation in the Cooloola region and Great Sandy National Park.

Our goal

Friends of Kinaba comprises a team of dedicated volunteers who help to restore, maintain and operate the Kinaba Information Centre. Our goal is to ensure the centre is a welcoming space where visitors can learn more about the natural environment and enjoy their experience in the park.

The community of Boreen Point readily shares its time, skills and knowledge, working with National Park rangers, to help protect and support the centre for future generations.
